Be warned theyre are a tonne of work!! and can be really naughty! Caprica gets really angry when I don't let her do what she wants! and ends up destroying something! Although, the last few days she has been pretty good at taking her anger out on her carpet mat thingy..

LOL! My best friend's cat does that when she's angry. She goes and attacks her scratch post while staring at my best friend like "how DARE you " It's so cute.

And you cant be responsible for every thing you animals do. They have a right to be outside, just like my dog does. Its nature, get over it. It happens. Animals are predetors, they hunt, they kill. Its how they are supposed to be.
I utterly, utterly disagree, and find your comments ignorant and offensive. You are absolutely responsible for everything your animals do, ethically and by law. They most certainly do not have an ethical right to be outside, and it is a shame that enough voters have this disgusting attitude which prevents the appropriate laws from being brought in/enforced. Cats are predators, they hunt, they kill, it is nature where they come from, but not within thousands of miles of where Barra lives, or anywhere near Australia. Thanks to this sort of attitude, Australia has the worst rate of mammal extinction in the world.

I would appreciate if there was NO MORE DEBATE in this thread. We are not here to talk about wether cats or dogs to be outside or not. I would appreciate, Sdaji, that unless you have something to add about CHECKERS and not just more pointless debate, that you do not post in this thread anymore.

Clearly you don't like it when I point out that you are doing something wrong, no surprises there. But is it really appropriate to be able to flaunt your wrongdoings without people commenting? If I was posting about being cruel to my rats and asked that people just keep anything negative to themselves and let me go on torturing my animals in peace, would you stay quiet? Do you think the people who were horrified by it would be silent simply because I asked them to be? I would appreciate it if you acted a bit more responsibly, but it looks like neither of us is going to get our wish.

If I acted more responsibly? So.....spending hours walking around to different houses trying to find the owner, speant almost my entire pay for the week on handrearing supplies and a check up from a specialist rabbit vet, and sacrificing, time and sleep to keep him alive is acting irresponsibly? So....what is the responsible thing to do? Let him die?

Argh! Guys! You're both pretty! I agree that cats should be kept inside for a variety of reasons, but I also know accidents happen. I think in cases where an unfortunate incident has occurred, you can either drop to your knees and cry in your hands, or you can try and make the best of it. Yes, it's terrible that the baby bunny was separated from its mother, but it has survived under BKR's care. I think that's the best outcome that could be asked for in adverse circumstances.

Accidents happen, and if Barra said "Oh, I feel awful! I will ensure the cat never gets out again!" I would be a lot more sympathetic than in a scenario of "Oh, it's not like I can do anything, this cat loves to get out and I'm not going to bother being responsible, even after what has happened, and further, I'm going to be happy about the situation and consider myself to be doing nothing wrong" Barra: I've never said you were doing a poor job of looking after the rabbit, yet peculiarly, you keep seeing that as the issue and getting defensive about it.

You know...obviously I've read this thread. I must admit, if I was the rabbit owner and was silly enough not to keep them secured but found out how dedicated the person that found my rabbit was I probably wouldn't be all that dissapointed. If I was the owner I'd be relieved he is safe and in good care. If any of my animals went missing I would love to think some kind person picked them up, gave then veterinary attention and nurtured them in my absence. Better than thinking it was abducted by a magpie . It could have come from a mass breeder or someone who breeds rabbits for meat. A grieving child is one possibility but it is equally as likely it came from someone who doesn't care too.
