Due to the amount of interest we have had on this topic, and the requests for it, I have put up a poll to see what members want. If you would like to read the discussion thread, it is here: http://australianratforum.com/index.php?topic=2555.0

If there is overwhelming support one way or the other we will go with it. If the response is not clear we will take it as it comes.

Thank you for voting, your feedback is important to us Smiley We understand this issue is important to many members and we want to do our best to make the forum as good for you as possible Smiley

I voted the first option, though I prefer five minutes. When I edit a post, I do it straight after reading to correct typos. Five minutes if plenty of time.

(This is just my opinion, I'm commenting as a forum member rather than a moderator).

I edit to correct typos - but find that when the kids are around 5 minutes is no where near enough time!

Everyone has now had the chance to vote and have their say, and it does seem clear that the majority of members would prefer posts to be fixed rather than indefinitely editable. This is not surprising as it is the way almost all online forums of all types operate. We can have a trial of time limit and see what works best and keeps everyone most happy. I will set the time limit to 10 minutes, this should be more than enough time to read your own post and edit them if you desire. If we find that 5 or 15 minutes would work better it is easy to change Smiley

Can we just have the breeding and genetics posts editable? For breeders waiting lists in particular. I and a few others i think, have a hard time keeping bits of paper and end up losing them Tongue
